  • 🔗 WordPress.org bans WP Engine, blocks it from accessing its resources

    > WordPress drama went up another notch on Wednesday after WordPress.org, the open-source web hosting software, banned hosting provider WP Engine from accessing its resources.

    Well that escalated rapidly!

    You’d hate to be a WP Engine customer at the moment, caught in the middle of the drama, not being able to auto-update plugins, wondering whether to move to a different host, or even a different platform!

    This will get worse before it gets better and I’m not confident WordPress or WP Engine will make smart decisions here.

    📺 Watched What’s Next? The Future with Bill Gates

    Gates tackles far-reaching topics from artificial intelligence to income inequality with curiosity and an open mind.

    Quite an interesting doco, some divisive subjects and alternate points of view from both sides. Definitely worth watching if you’re interested in near future technologies.

    > An animated series inspired by Norse Mythology. The Twilight of the Gods refers to events that led to the destruction of Midgard and Asgard, then the death of most of the Æsir and Vanir gods in an ultimate battle against evil, the forces of nature and the Giants.

    Not a bad take on some familiar stories and characters.
