Getting ‘Wii Fit’ and older!
Well tomorrow is my 32nd birthday, happy birthday to me! The last 4-5 years I’ve gained a bunch of weight, I’m around 20kg over weight and seeing as I’m getting married in August, and also Cath has started her ‘Bride-to-Be Boot(y) Camp‘ I figured I should get serious as well and try to get and drop a few kilograms and maybe even get a little fitter as well.
So how am I going to do this? Well the hub of my activities will focus around the Wii Fit. While I have been playing it a little since we got it a few weeks ago I’ve also been pretty busy with work and haven’t kept up my activities on it. I’m going to start a new Mii character and track my progress throughout, I’ll also do a daily blog entry with photos as well so you guys can get on my back if I’m not making any progress and keep me motivated!
As well as doing the Wii Fit activities I’ll also be playing a bit of golf. Most days in my lunch break I get out to the driving range and hit a bucket of balls, and while this is not the most strenuous activity it does get me up and out of the office. I’m going to try and play a round of golf, the full 18 holes, once a week too though this will depend on the weather.
We all know that the best way to lose weight is to monitor what you eat, if you’re not doing loads of exercise then don’t eat loads of calories. It’s that simple really, so I’m going to continue on with Lite n Easy as I’ve lost around 10 kilograms since I started back on it back in February and while I should’ve lost more I blame it on beer. My weakness is beer, not McDonalds or KFC or chocolate, but beer. I love a beer or two after work most days but the problem with that is that beer is loaded with calories and when you’re on a weight loss diet you just dont want to be stuffing yourself with more calories. So no more beer during the week, maybe a couple on the weekend is ok but that’s it.
So there you have it, Matt’s version of Cath’s Boot(y) Camp. I’m hoping you guys can help me out and push me to stick to it!
Lite n Easy - Week ?
If you’ve been following my blog for a little while you’ll know that I’ve been dieting with Lite n Easy. Well I figured I should probably write a quick update on my progress seeing as the last time I wrote anything about it was going on 2 months ago.
Ok, so how have I been going with the diet? Reasonably well, particularly considering I’ve ‘diverted’ from the diet way too many times in the last month or so. In total I’ve lost 13 and a bit kilogams, that’s 28 or so pounds for my American friends, I think I probably would’ve lost more but in the last month I’ve been a little tempted by other foods, and yeh we’ve gone out to dinner a few times also.
Where to now? Well basically I’m continuing on with Lite n Easy, but I’ve changed my ‘order’ a little by only ordering 5 day a week plan instead of the full 7 day a week plan. Basically this small change will allow me to continue to lose weight, but also it’ll allow me to actually do some cooking and even eat out occasionally without wasting food and money.
“It’s kind of like having a chef organise everything for you during the week when you’re the busiest, and then come the weekend you’re left to your own devices.”
Anyway, today for lunch I had the Chicken and Vegetable Curry for the first time. It was packed full of lentils, chickpeas, carrot, cauliflower and chicken, it even had a nice curry ‘kick’ to it.

Lite n Easy, week 6
Well it’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve updated you about my progress on Lite n Easy, partially because there was a week or two where I didn’t lose any weight but I blame myself for that seeing as I was drinking a few beers.
Anyway I’m properly back on the Lite n Easy wagon now and with the weight I lost last week I’ve managed to lose 10kg so far, so that’s 10kg in 5 weeks..not bad at all really.
The good thing about losing weight this way is that it’s sustainable loss, ie. you don’t put it back on straight away unlike some other rapid weight loss diets where you usually have put it all back on within a week or two.
Week 6 is just about to start, in fact it should be being delivered in an hour or so….hrmmm I might grab a few photos, or a video, of the unpacking process as you’ll get a good idea of exactly what is involved with dieting with Lite n Easy.
So stay tuned for some photos or video, not sure if I’ll be able to upload them this morning as I’ve got to go to Sydney for a meeting, but I’ll try and get them uploaded later today when I’m back.
Take it easy, Matt
