This year the Street Performers’ Festival will showcase an incredible line up of talent. The Festival will stretch from Newcastle West – Birdwood Park, Marketown, Pacific Park – to Harbour Square and the Honeysuckle Workshops and along Newcastle Mall.

LOCAL TURF will once again present our homegrown performers including VAMPYRO, DANGER BOY, ANDREW BARNARD and GLAMOUR INK.

DISLOCATE

Dislocate Acrobatic Aerial Theatre will perform 3 SPEED CRUNCH BOX a highly humorous, fantastically physical street comedy which follows a ridiculous family of stunt people, who amidst incredible acrobatics and daringly stupid feats, desperately try to get “the big trick” just right. Combining aerial spectacle with ground based acrobatics, DISLOCATE’S 3 SPEED CRUNCH BOX will create memorable and astounding entertainment for all ages.

THE MEGAPHONE PROJECT is a multi-layered installation and performance work where the performers get the audience to take part in the act via a series of mega phones. Children and adults are invited to run from mega phone to mega phone – and even climb inside the largest – to shout, listen and see!

OZ STAR AIRLINES

Come fly with OzStar Airlines as they present First Class In-flight Entertainment! Fasten your seatbelts and prepare for take-off with the high-flying comedic duo of Stacy and Tracy, hostesses with the mostest! There’ll be plenty of unexpected turbulence, especially just before landing when Tracey performs the 5 hula hoop split while standing on Stacey’s shoulders!

ERNEST THE MAGNIFICO

Julian Bell is ERNEST THE MAGNIFICO Australia’s comic daredevil, the world’s only roller-skating stuntman. Ernest will amaze the crowds with his roller-skating and his stunt car as he pits man against machine in a death-defying showdown!

BIKE BOY is back again to thrill the crowds with his own brand of extreme entertainment! World-renowned street entertainer and astounding performer Sean Bridges (aka Bike Boy) mixes amazing bicycle stunts, incredible juggling tricks and his spontaneous, zany humour to put on a thrilled fearless funny show.

GREAT SCOTT comedy juggler extraordinare will delight folk both young and old. With his cheeky charismatic style and skilful juggling, Great Scott will keep everyone laughing and amazed as he balances on a rolling tube on top of a champagne glass tower of terror!

PAT TRICK is a born entertainer originally from Northern Ireland. He has many bows to his string; however, the main areas he specializes in are Magic and Comedy. A magician and modern day Houdini, Pat Trick performs a crazy show full of cheeky entertainment.

ROO’D is an act by Icarus Performance Troupe giant kangaroos on amazing bouncing stilts. Jumping up to a metre off the ground and 2 metres in a bound, they are a phenomenal sight. Their characters are a crossover of outback macho and inner city punk savvy – always Roo’d but never offensive.

BEACH PATROL Sharks beware! These Bronzed hero’s of surf and sand are on patrol and eager to prove they’re ready to rescue. Marvel at their mouth to mouth! Be dazzled by their daring drills! Heroic? Certainly. Posers? Definitely! You’ll need CPR after these moustachioed musclemen have bared their biceps while diverting danger. Swim outside the flags at your own peril.
