The difficulties of having an opinion and being an editor for a music website

Incase you didn't know, I've decided to give I'm With The Band one last shot at stardom. This time however a few things are different, ie. we have a photo editor who will chase photo passes, and help the photogs upload / publish, and I have a contribution team who will basically write whatever they want to write about rather than sticking to some sort of editorial process.

I think it will work better this way, time will tell of course.

Back to the topic at hand. One of the things I find really difficult with running I'm With The Band is that I have a fairly strong opinion when it comes to music that I like, music that I don't like but still think has some value, and music that I think is just shite and should never be heard or promoted in any way, shape, or form.

So when I receive that 'latest and greatest CD release ever OMG they've revolutionised pop like no other band before' with an accompanying press release that reads similarly it's a little hard for me to not just drop the whole package in the bin without even giving it a listen. This is probably not entirely fair, as I'm sure someone somewhere might like it, but tough shit...the music industry is a tough, and very unfair industry.

I think I've kind of lost my direction with this blog, so I'm going to leave it as is for now..... I might rant a little more at a later date.
