Long Weekend ahead, and other news
Well this weekend is a long weekend, apparently it’s for the Queens Birthday but that’s a whole other debate, and I’m really looking forward to having the time off. I’ve got so much to do around the house, around my blog, and well just around every where. It’s one of the advantages of having a broad range of interests, there’s always something to do!
My plans for this weekend vary greatly, it’ll all depend on the weather. If it’s raining, then it’ll mostly be a Wii-kend, with plenty of time finishing off games and also reviews on the Wii and the Xbox 360. If it’s not raining then I’ll be spending Saturday painting the walls of my new photography studio.
What’s this photo studio you speak of? This afternoon I should be signing the rental agreement on an old office on Hunter Street in Newcastle, this space will be what I’ll be using for a photography studio where I will have al my lighting, backdrops, and other assorted photography equipment setup. It’ll be awesome to get back into doing studio work, it’s been a while since I actually photographed in a studio environment but hopefully I wont have forgotten too much.
In other news, I’m now an official member of Gloucester Country Club. In their May board meeting my application for membership was approved and yesterday I received my membership card and ‘welcome letter’. I’m looking forward to getting up to Gloucester in the next couple of weeks for a game of golf, a couple of beers, and a meal at the club. Thanks to Tony, Cath’s Dad, for hooking me up with the GCC membership.
Here’s a short history of the club;
After the sale of an earlier course to Gloucester Shire Council for a subdivision, Gloucester Country Club was created from land previously used as a dairy farm by the Chaseling family. It was purchased in 1973 and officially opened on Saturday,19th June, 1976.
The course was designed by Bob Green, then of the Department of Sport and Recreation, around the existing trees. Although a nine hole course the length and tree placement make it a challenging test of golf. This is shown by the course record of 69 which was established on 13th of October,1984 by Bob Webeck and still stands today.
Anyway, I have a tonne of work to get done today so I better wrap this up. Here’s a bizarrely random website for you to check out, Hairwash. The premise is a photo before you wash your hair, and then one after. Bizarre, but strangely interesting. Oh and it’s totally safe for work, so don’t worry.
Enjoy!
