MPM Studios, coming soon

Recently I signed an agreement to rent some space on Hunter Street, Newcastle, where I’m in the process of setting up a photography studio. It’s going to be a very basic setup, those tend to work the best with studios as you’ve then got more options to modify it each time you shoot.

Yesterday afternoon I spent a few hours in the ’studio’ painting the undercoat on the main walls to get rid of the horrid colours that were already there. I’ve got one more coat to get done before I would cal it ‘white’ and after that it’ll just be doing some final ‘tidy up’ work like removing the carpets and a little bit of patching work.

MPM Studios

The above photo is from where you enter the space, I’ll be putting in some single chairs, a desk, and some rugs.

The below photo is where I will hang a seamless backdrop and have it setup as the main shooting area, though with the size of the area and all the different walls and what not I think there are a multitude of places to shoot depending on what you’re trying to achieve. I’ll also be taking in all the props and odds and ends I’ve collected that could be interesting to include in photos, as well as a bit of a library of my photography books and magazines.

If you’re interested in renting the space from me some time, or if you’re a model and would like to shoot with me, either leave a comment or send me an email via my contact page

Almost back

I was away pretty well all weekend, and even when I was in Newcastle I was way to busy with painting and photography related stuff, so it wasn’t until this morning that I could try and resurrect my blog.

I’ve just about got all the articles back, but unfortunately a lot of the accompanying images are gone for good. Bit by bit I will try and rebuild them, but for the most part my blog is back up and running.

Anyway, better get back to it. Ciao.

Epic Fail

Some where between 10pm last night and 9am this morning there was a total failure of my server.

Basically I lost everything, though I am trying to recover from the databases. Hopefully everything will be back some time over the weekend.

Fingers crossed.

Matt

Wii Fit weigh in tomorrow morning, I reckon I’ll be down a kilogram from my starting weight, at least that’s what I ‘feeling’ at the moment. I guess we’ll have to wait and see tomorrow.

Food Diary, day 6

Back on track today. I’ve got plenty of work to do around the house today, and after the epic walk around Gloucester Golf course yesterday, so I’ve been getting plenty of exercise and have been quite active. To get the best benefit out of all this activity I made sure I ate healthy all day!

Here we go;

Breakfast

  • Slice of Grain Toast with Ham & Cheese
  • Flat White with 2 sugars
  • Small glass of Orange Juice

Morning Tea

  • Bottle of Water

Lunch

  • Bread Roll with Chicken & salad
  • Bottle of water

Afternoon Snack

  • Cranberry Bran muffin

Dinner

  • Lite n Easy Chicken Snitzel dinner
  • Glass of Canadian Club & Dry Ginger Ale
  • Glass of Red Wine
  • Bottle of water

And also today it was Wii Fit weigh in day. I figured that with eating kind of ordinary yesterday, even though I did plenty of exercise, that my weight may have gone up slightly…..but it didn’t. Suprisingly it was exactly the same, not a gram difference. That’s a good thing I guess as at least now I know what sort of work I need to do to negate eating the odd bit of junk food.

Food Diary, day 5

Today I was all over the place food wise. I was up at the in-laws as Tony, Cath’s Dad, and I played a round of golf today at the Gloucester Country Club.

Anyway, food wise I had some eggs, toast and chicken sausages for breakfast, no morning tea, and lunch wasn’t till about 2:30pm as we didn’t finish our 18 till after 1pm. I ended up grabbing CrapDonald’s on the way back to Newcastle as I was starving. Last night Cath and I made home made mini-pizzas and they weren’t too bad nutritionally speaking.

Tomorrow I’ll be back on the band wagon properly.

Food Diary, day 4

And the healthiness continues, at least from a dietary side as I really haven’t done much in the way of exercise aside from hitting the driving range. Tomorrow I’m playing golf with Cath’s Dad up at Gloucester Country Club so that’ll be a fair amount of exercise as we’ll be playing the full 18 holes.

On with today’s food consumption;

Breakfast

  • Slice of Grain Toast with Strawberry Jam
  • Flat White with 2 sugars
  • Bottle of water

Lunch

  • Bread Roll with Turkey
  • Yoghurt Date Bread (best thing since sliced bread)
  • Bottle of water

Afternoon Snack

  • Cracker n Nut mix
  • Mandarin
  • Flat White with 2 sugar

Dinner

  • Chinese Lemon Chicken and Rice
  • Bottle of water

There won’t be another Wii Fit weigh in till Sunday as I don’t think I’ll be back from Gloucester early enough, actually I’m sure I wont. The best way to keep track of your weight, seeing as it fluctuates throughout the day, is to weigh yourself at the same time each day. So bearing that in mind I’ll have to wait till Sunday to see if I’m still progressing well.
