Income Report - January 2008
Well January 2008 has officially come and gone, it really baffles me where the time goes these days. Our lifestyles are just so fast and furious that days, weeks, months just fly by us in the blink of an eye.
Anyway, I figured it was about time to make good on my promise back in mid-December of putting together an income report. I would’ve done this early in January however I made some big changes in my approach to blogging and therefore my income stream essentially died for a short time. I’ll write another blog on the changes I made in the next couple of days.
For the last month I’ve only been using Google Adsense, Bidvertiser, TTZ Media, and WidgetBucks for the advertising on this site. I’ve investigated doing paid reviews and direct advertising sales but at this stage I’ve decided not to.
Enough stalling, what did I earn from this blog in January 2008?
- Google Adsense - $10.44
- Bidvertiser - $0.08
- TTZ Media - $0.60
- WidgetBucks - $43.87
Grand Total - $54.99
I also received 6 months free hosting, along with a hefty increase in my account size and monthly bandwidth, for people signing up to Servage, this equates to a further $50.00 or so.
I know there are people out there who are earning thousands of dollars per month and that they’d be disappointed with the numbers above, but I’m quite happy with them actually. I’ve really only been serious about my blog for 2 months now and have only been considering it a potential job / income source for that time also.
As my readership continues to grow, and my rss subscribers also grow, I would expect that the income will increase as well. I have a few other ideas on how to increase my blogging income, however I don’t really want to announce what I’m doing until it’s all been finalised over the coming weeks.
On to the graphs! Seeing as this is the first month I’ve actually recorded my blogs earnings these graphs dont mean a huge amount, but over the course of the rest of the year it’ll give me a lot of information as to what is and isn’t working.
The first graph here shows the total income broken up to the individual streams, obviously WidgetBucks is the big winner this month as it seems I’ve referred a few people who have been using it and are getting clicks on their adverts. The other income streams are all paid per click.

The following graph shows the income from this month vs. the income from last month to see which stream has had the most growth month to month.

And finally we have a month to month graph showing the total earnings each month, again it wont really mean a lot until we have a few months income graphed.

All graphs were made using NCES Kids Zone graphing tools
