Are you a Mac Addict?
In my RSS this morning there was an article from the Digital Freak website with a link to a quizz to see how much of a Mac Addict you are, and as a Mac person I just couldn’t resist taking the quizz.
Here’s my result, pretty decent..

Ideas for blog posts?
Some afternoons I sit in front of my laptop wondering what I should blog about. Some afternoons it comes really easy, but more often than not I’ll sit in front of my Mac and my mind just goes blank!
Whenever I have that ‘brain crash’ I start surfing Digg, Technorati, and del.icio.us and checkout their respective front pages to see what people are blogging about, what news items are hitting the front page, and any other tid bits I can find. Some times this helps, some times it doesn’t.
And if that doesn’t help I’ll fire up my Google Reader account and go through all my RSS feeds and checkout what all my RSS friends are blogging about and see if there’s any great articles that I can link to and help them, while helping my own hits too of course.
And if that doesn’t work then my last salvation is to head over to Ice Rocket or Google Blog Search and do some searches on a bunch of random interests I have to see if I can find some new blogs to read and / or subscribe to.
Usually I’ll be able to get something out of one of those resources to write about, and voila a blog post is born.
Sooooo when you’re having a mental block, what do you do for writing inspiration?
Last minute Christmas present idea!
For those of you who are still pondering what to buy that ‘fella in your life’ for Christmas, then head on over to Fashionising.com for a great idea.
For the locals, aka the Australian’s, who read my blog you can take Fashionising’s advice, but instead of following their Amazon link head on over to iSubscribe and finish up your shopping.
Drift Wood
Jumped in the car and headed off to shoot a few frames this morning. Haven’t shot a lot lately as I’ve been pretty busy, and been playing a lot of golf. I was definitely out of sync with my ‘photo self’ as I totally forgot that I had the ISO way up high and couldn’t for the life of me figure out why it was still too bright at f/22.
Anyway, here’s one that I’ve finished up. Pretty happy with it, looks great printed up nice and big, way better on paper than on the screen.

Mathew Packer Photography
I finally got my web presence all sorted today, I’ve gone and bought another domain name from Dynonames.com and am in the process of setting up a proper portfolio website for my photography.
Originally this website / blog was going to be my ‘one stop shop for all things Mathew Packer’ but I’ve come to realise that just wont ever be the case as this blog is rapidly growing and moving further away from my photography.
In the coming days, and probably nights, I’ll be hard at work coding and coding to get the new Mathew Packer Photography website up and running.
PS. Anyone with any logo ideas, drop me an email via the contact page or leave a comment.
Do you Entrecard?
Well if you do already, then you should check out the competition currently running over at Xavier Media Blog to see how you can win a whole bunch of credits to your Entrecard account..
Income Report
I get a bunch of emails daily asking me questions on how I’ve monetized my blog and whether or not certain advertising services have worked for me or not so I figured I’d start a monthly report on what I’ve made and where I’ve made it from, I’ll even include some pretty graphs too.
So stay tuned later this month, probably on the 31st and I’ll provide a detailed income report on the money I’ve made from this blog as well as giving you the information on how I optimized each advertising module to generate the most income from it.
Making money with Google’s Adsense
So you wanna make money online like me? Hahah..
Well actually, I make bugger all as I haven’t really optimized my advertising yet to get it really working for me, not to mention that not many people actually click my advertising.
Anyway, the following video from Don Vandervort gives you some good tips on how he got Google’s Adsense working well on his Home Tips website. It’s all so obvious, but some times we need to be told EXACTLY what we should be doing and Don definitely tells us what we should be doing. So go check it out and let me know what you think.
